<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a sheath material for a battery which manufactures a sheath material for a battery with a small number of scratches, rubbed areas, wrinkles, and thermal wrinkles, and to provide a secondary battery having the sheath material for the battery with a small number of the scratches, the rubbed areas, the wrinkles, and the thermal wrinkles. <P>SOLUTION: In a manufacturing method of a sheath material for a battery 10 of this invention, an outer layer 11, reinforcing a barrier layer 13, is provided on one surface in the thickness direction of the barrier layer 13 preventing the intrusion of liquid components, and a corrosion prevention layer 14 having corrosion resistance is formed on a surface of the barrier layer 13 which is the opposite side of the surface where the outer layer 11 is provided.
