<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for joining iron plate strips which enables improving quality of a welded portion, while speedily carrying out joining-weld of thick plate strips. <P>SOLUTION: The device for joining iron plate strips includes: a first cutting unit to cut a rear end portion of a preceding iron plate strip; a second cutting unit to cut a front end portion of a subsequent iron plate strip; a first transferring means for transferring the first cutting unit in a forward and a backward carry mode; a second transferring means for transferring the second cutting unit in a forward and a backward carry mode; and a welding unit disposed between the first cutting unit and the second cutting unit. In this device for joining iron plate strips, welding is implemented using the welding unit in such a state that ends of the two iron plate strips are butted with each other to form a V-formation through installing a first upper cutting edge and a second upper cutting edge slanted to each other in an opposite direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
