The luminance-enhancing processing units determine the correctable amount for enhancement of the display luminance of each pixel on the basis of the first feature amount, and correct for enhancement the display luminance data of each pixel corresponding to a low-luminance area where the luminance distribution of the display unit is lower than the target luminance distribution on the basis of the correctable amount for enhancement.</p>
