STORAGE MEDIUM, REPRODUCTION METHOD, RECORDING METHOD, REPRODUCTION DEVICE AND RECORDING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage medium using an organic pigment material with which recording/reproduction can be performed with light of a wavelength of 620 nm or less, and to provide a recording method and a recording device using the medium.

SOLUTION: A light absorption rate is drastically decreased with light of a wavelength shorter than 620 nm due to effect of absorption spectral characteristics of a general organic pigment material, and recording sensitivity is decreased. By using an "L→H" organic pigment recording material which has a reflection rate higher in a recorded portion (a recording mark) than in an unrecorded portion, the recording mark utilizing decoloration effect due to separation of electronic bonds is formed, thereby requiring no substrate deformation and enhancing the recording sensitivity.
