COATING MATERIAL COMPOSITION, GAS BARRIER FILM, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING GAS BARRIER FILM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an art giving a gas barrier film with a simple method using a specific hydroxy urethane resin which has never used as a material of a coating material composition for forming a gas barrier layer, the gas barrier film having least change of gas barrier properties to humidity, not generating harmful gas when incinerating, and further capable of reducing an environmental load itself.

SOLUTION: The coating material composition for forming a gas barrier layer is configured such that the gas barrier layer comprises a hydroxy polyurethane resin as a principal constituent formed by reacting a compound represented by general formula (1) having at least two five-membered cyclic carbonate groups with a compound having at least two amino groups by a functional group equivalence ratio of 0.8-1.25. In the general formula, X represents any of O, N or NR2, the R2is hydrogen or a 1-3C alkyl group; a is 1 when X is O or NR2and is 2 when X is N; b is an integer not less than 1 that makes a×b not less than 2; and R1is an aliphatic hydrocarbon or an aromatic hydrocarbon and may contain O and/or N in its structure.
