This microstructure is manufactured such that a (discontinuous) joint is not visually perceived on the surface of a molded article formed using a transfer. A method for manufacturing a microstructure in which the microstructure is manufactured by repeating a basic microstructure forming step for pressing a microstructured die (105) into a curable resin (photo-curable resin (109)) on the surface of a base material (108) to form the basic microstructure; and a releasing and moving step for releasing and moving the microstructured die (105) from the base material (108). This method is characterized in that the microstructured die (105) has at least a first die recessed pattern (105a) in the central part thereof, and a second die recessed pattern (105b) on at least one side of the peripheral part thereof, and the second die recessed pattern (105b) is smaller in size than the first die recessed pattern (105a).
