PURPOSE: A generator state monitoring apparatus using a gaseous organic compound sensor is provided to enhance operation reliability by eliminating moisture or oil caused by major malfunction. CONSTITUTION: An oil eliminator(1) gets a part of hydrogen gas which circulates inside a generator and eliminates moisture or oil in the hydrogen gas. A filter(2) eliminates particle material over 0.001micrometers. A flow controller(3) introduces a fixed quantity of gas in a sensor. A gaseous organic compound sensor(6) sympathizes with a gaseous organic compound included in the hydrogen gas. A signal processor(7) calculates organic compound concentration detected in the gaseous organic compound sensor and indicates it. The signal processor warns the excess of a management standard value of the gaseous organic compound concentration.
