<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor integrated circuit having means for avoiding breakage due to overvoltage, which protects the semiconductor integrated circuit from overvoltage application with avoiding an adverse effect on a normal operation. <P>SOLUTION: A semiconductor integrated circuit comprises: an input circuit to which a first terminal and an input part are connected; first means connected with an output part of the input circuit; and a first switch connected between the input circuit and a second terminal. The first switch maintains connection between the input circuit and the second terminal in a normal state and releases the connection when an input of overvoltage is detected. The first means raises potential of the output part when overvoltage is applied to the first terminal to reduce a potential difference from the input part to prevent breakage of the input circuit. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
