<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To store electric energy converted from waste heat, improve utilization efficiency in utilizing the stored energy in an operation part to which power supply is suspended under power-saving mode, thereby improving power-saving effect. <P>SOLUTION: The electric energy converted from waste heat of a fixing unit 111 and stored in a storage battery 114 is used for a main power supply ON/OFF switch 603 or the like which is turned on in an external power shut-off state for entering a deep power saving mode, and used for recovery from the external power shut-off state. In recovery, an external power source is used for determining whether the energy to be required for the recovery operation has been stored in the storage battery immediately before entering the external power shut-off state. Even if the energy is insufficient as a result, the external power supply selected by a charge switch 601 covers the shortfall for the storage battery 114, and the energy stored in the storage battery 114 is used to execute desired operation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
