<p>An image display device comprises a variable focus optical element which collects light beams from a light source, and displays an image by scanning the collected light beams from the variable focus optical element. The variable focus optical element further comprises: lenses (40, 41) which have respectively parallel optical axes, and which are positioned in line in a direction perpendicular to each optical axis; perpendicular plane mirrors (42) which reflect the beam from the lens (40) toward the lens (41); and an actuator (43) which moves the perpendicular plane mirrors (42) in parallel with each optical axis of the lenses (40, 41). The degree of displacement of the actuator (43) is controlled according to the scan angle.</p> |
