<p>A heads-up display comprises: a light source which projects light upon a display means for displaying a virtual image; a recognition means for recognizing a prescribed region upon the display means for determining the display location and/or size of a virtual image whereby ensuring a field of view for safety purposes and ensuring the visibility of the virtual image are implemented when observing via the display means from a prescribed location; and a control means for carrying out, on the basis of the prescribed region which the recognition means has recognized, a control which changes the display location and/or size of the virtual image. It is thus possible to improve image visibility while appropriately ensuring a user's field of view for safety purposes.</p>
