<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve power generation efficiency by preventing a reduction in oxidation efficiency of a sugar due to an organic acid produced in oxidizing the sugar. <P>SOLUTION: A sugar-air fuel cell 1 includes: a fuel chamber 2 capable of housing a sugar fuel water solution A comprising an electrolyte containing a sugar; an anode 3 which is disposed in the fuel chamber 2 and is brought into contact with the sugar fuel water solution A to oxidize the sugar; a cathode 4 which is disposed adjacent to the anode 3 with the sugar fuel water solution A or a solid electrolyte sandwiched therebetween in the fuel chamber 2 and reduces oxygen; and an adsorption member 6b for adsorbing an organic acid generated by oxidation of the sugar in the anode 3. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
