PHOSPHONIC ACID-BASED ELECTROLYTE, MEMBRANE ELECTRODE ASSEMBLY, AND FUEL CELL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a phosphonic acid-based electrolyte, a membrane electrode assembly, and a fuel cell excellent in proton conductivity for the phosphonic acid-based electrolyte, the membrane electrode assembly, and the fuel cell.

SOLUTION: The phosphonic acid-based electrolyte includes a repeating unit shown by formula (1) (wherein X denotes -O- or -NH-). It is desirable that it is m≥6 in the formula (1). In the formula (1), R1denotes a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, and m and n denote an integer of at least 2.
