Provided in embodiments of the present invention are a link adaptive feedback method and a transmission-end device. The link adaptive feedback method comprises: the transmission-end device receiving a link adaptive feedback frame transmitted by a reception-end device, the link adaptive feedback frame carrying space-time block code type indication information; the transmission-end device determining, on the basis of the space-time block code type indication information, usage information of space-time block codes by a data frame targeted by the link adaptive feedback frame, and selecting a space-time stream, a bandwidth, and a modulation and coding scheme (MCS) for use by the transmission-end device when transmitting the data frame. The embodiments of the present invention improve the completeness of feedback information in a link adaptive active feedback mechanism, and allow the transmission-end device to select, on the basis of the usage information, the space-time stream, the bandwidth, and the MCS for use by the transmission-end device when transmitting the data frame, thus improving link performance.
