The present invention improves the surface hardness of a polymerized-monomer-coating hard film without reducing the interior hardness thereof. A method for manufacturing a plasma-polymerized film by plasma-polymerizing a composition containing at least one radical-polymerizable compound and one or both of the following: a polymerization initiator and a chain transfer agent. Also, a plasma-polymerized film obtained by plasma-polymerizing a composition containing at least one radical-polymerizable compound and one or both of the following: a polymerization initiator and a chain transfer agent.
