The present invention provides CDP-Choline (Citicoline) and any salt thereof comprising at least one isotopically labeled carbon atom directly bonded to at least one deuterium atom, a composition comprising said CDP-Choline, uses thereof, methods for diagnosing and evaluating a state, condition, or disease in a subject utilizing CDP- Choline of the invention and kits comprising CDP-Choline of the invention.
