<p>A ballast water treatment system (1), as well as a method of operation, configured for treating water to be delivered into a ballast tank (50) is disclosed. The system (1) and method is configured for, during ballast offload operation and by means of a first flushing water conduit (60), lead flushing water from a ballast water filter (20) to a suction side of a ballast water pump (10).
