<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water dispersion body of resin-coated titanium oxide which hardly sinks, is excellent in storage stability and opacifying property and is suitable for use in an inkjet ink. <P>SOLUTION: The water dispersion body of resin-coated titanium oxide is configured by hydrophobicizing the surface of titanium oxide having the primary particle size of 100-300 nm, coating with a resin, and dispersing in water, the resin-coated titanium oxide having a resin coverage of ≥100 mass%. The average particle size of the resin-coated titanium oxide is preferably ≤400 nm. The hydrophobicizing treatment of the surface of titanium oxide can be performed by using a fatty acid or silane coupling agent. The water dispersion body can be produced by: dispersing the surface-hydrophobicized titanium oxide in the oil phase comprising a monomer and/or oligomer; emulsifying the oil phase in a water phase to prepare an O/W type emulsion; and polymerizing the obtained O/W type emulsion by a mini-emulsion polymerization method. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
