<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem in which confidential information can be leaked if an operation of a soft key is displayed in highlight on a display section when an information processing device and an external device connected thereto display the same operation screen, the highlight display of the operation of the soft key being necessary to determine whether a special soft key such as a dead key is operated. <P>SOLUTION: When displaying an operation screen on an operation part included in an information processing device connected to an external device via a network and on the external device, highlighting or not of a pressed key for inputting confidential information, such as a password, is selected in accordance with a situation. It is determined whether to display a character on the operation part in accordance with an input to the operation part.
