<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve digestion efficiency of a digestion tank for anaerobically digesting an organic waste. <P>SOLUTION: This digestion tank 1 comprises a treatment tank body 10 in which sludge is stored and into which an organic waste is introduced. By providing the digestion tank 1 in which the treatment tank body 10 is formed so that a horizontal area of an inner space above a sludge surface C increases as it goes upward, defoaming is reliably performed.
