Provided is a power saving type electromagnetic relay having superior impact resistance. Thus, in the electromagnetic relay, a movable iron core (34) is disposed so as to be movable up and down within a center hole (65) of an electromagnet part (2) formed by winding a coil (60). According to magnetic excitation and demagnetization of the electromagnet part (2), the upper end surface of the movable iron core (34) contacts and separates from the lower end surface of a fixed iron core (40) disposed within the center hole (65). Also, movable contacts (57) make contact with and separate from stationary contacts (14) via a movable shaft (45), which moves back and forth as a unit with the movable iron core (34), and the contacts are opened and closed. Specifically, a sliding part (39) is disposed on the lower side of a circular shaped groove part (38) formed on the peripheral surface of the movable iron core (34), and the sliding part (39) always faces an auxiliary yoke (74) within that cylindrically shaped auxiliary yoke (74), which is provided within a yoke (70). Also, the height dimension of the sliding part (39) is at least the plate thickness dimension of the yoke (70) or greater. |
