Provided in the present invention is a parity information-based method for acquiring information of a contact from a network. In the method, an encoded image is first provided by the contact, parity information is then acquired from the encoded image by a requester device, and then request information comprising the parity information is transmitted to a network device, when the request information is received by the network device, a query is performed in an information base having stored therein multiple pieces of parity information and multiple pieces of related personal information of a contact corresponding respectively to one piece of parity information, and the related personal information of the contact corresponding to the parity information identical to a piece of parity information from a user equipment is transmitted from the information base to the requester device. This obviates the need for manual input of the information of the contact.
