DRIVE SYSTEM OF VEHICLE AND CONTROL METHOD THEREOF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive system of a vehicle in which temperature of an inverter element is reduced when the electric motor is locked, and which improves comfortable satisfaction of the driver and to provide a control method.

SOLUTION: The drive system of the vehicle includes: an electric motor (motor generator MG2); an inverter 14 that drives the electric motor; and a control device 30 to control the electric motor by periodically outputting the torque command value to the inverter 14. The control device 30 differentiates the torque change rate according to whether a present torque command value belongs to the high torque region or belongs to a low torque region that is a region lower than the high torque region and decides the next torque command value. The control device 30 decides the boundary value of the high torque region and the low torque region based on the temperature T related to the element temperature of the inverter.
