The device (100) has a receiver (102) that receives and stores position data of respective energy delivery points of one route in navigation database (104). A determining unit (108) determines the current available energy level of motor car and identifies the associated energy costs. A navigation unit determines another route to reach target position if energy level for one route is reached. The energy delivery point with respect to another route is selected such that the energy cost for the drive to reach target position along another route is minimized. An independent claim is included for a method for assisting driver during power supply planning for ride in motor car.
