[Class 65(ii)] The steering mechanism of a motordriven vehicle includes a ball and socket joint comprising an arm 13 which is connected, preferably detachably, to the link 7 carrying the socket 5. The arm is formed with a concave spherical surface 12 that presses against the upper end of the ball pin 3, or an intermediate member 10 positioned thereon. The centre of curvature of the surface 12 substantially coincides with that of the ball. A lubricating hole may be provided at the centre of the surface 12. |
