摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for calibrating a camera system having a plurality of cameras. <P>SOLUTION: A method is provided for calibrating a camera system comprising a plurality of cameras having a predetermined intrinsic calibration. The cameras are provided on an object such as a vehicle, and cover a surrounding perimeter of the object. The method comprises the steps of: (a) positioning a set of markers separated by known dimensions and located on a single plane in the surrounding perimeter of the object and in the field of view of a camera; (b) calculating extrinsic parameters of the camera from the respective set of markers for the camera; and (c) repeating the steps (a) and (b) for each of the other cameras among the plurality of cameras. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
