<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a continuously variable transmission belt, which can manufacture a continuously variable transmission belt having high tensile strength and high fatigue strength at a low cost. <P>SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the continuously variable transmission belt includes: ring member forming steps S10-S14; a carburization quenching step S15; and a nitriding step S17. Firstly, in the ring member forming steps, a ring member 6A having, by mass, ≤0.05% of C and ≥0.1% and ≤1.0% of Ti, is formed. Next, in the carburization quenching step S15, carburizing treatment and quenching treatment are applied to the ring member 6A. Finally, in the nitriding step S17, nitriding treatment is applied to a carburized and quenched ring member 6C.
