<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the stability of focus detection in photographing a person. <P>SOLUTION: When a face is detected from an imaging signal, a face frame corresponding to a face and a normal frame fixed in position around the center of the imaging screen and including the face frame are set. Using evaluation values obtained from the face frame and normal frame, TV-AF control is exerted. If no more face is detected after the face detection, the amount of change in the evaluation value of the normal frame including the face frame is calculated. If the amount of change is smaller than a threshold value, the TV-AF control is exerted using an evaluation value captured from the face frame and normal frame. If the amount of change is greater than a threshold, the TV-AF control is exerted using only an evaluation value captured from the normal frame. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
