Use: for producing three-dimensional models of goods in interactive product catalogs published on websites and also in multimedia presentations, interactive encyclopedias, educational programs, computer games and animation, during the performance of restoration work, modeling of different engineering objects etc. Subject matter: the universal system for three-dimensional image capture and for displaying an object in a three-dimensional format comprises equipment consisting of a photographic camera for producing a series of photographs of an object from different angles, a calibrating stand with the object of image capture arranged in the center of said calibrating stand, and a computer with special software installed for constructing a three-dimensional model. The calibrating stand is in the form of a horizontally oriented rotating platform. The photographic camera is connected to the computer via a programmed control unit which synchronizes the operating frequency of the photographic camera with the platform rotation speed. The special software product converts a series of two-dimensional photographs into one three-dimensional (volumetric) movable photograph, which is a digital pseudo-three-dimensional model of the real object. Technical advantages: the possibility of easily and quickly producing high-quality volumetric photographs in a three-dimensional format; the possibility of effectively processing the results of three-dimensional image capture and distributing said results on the Internet; and extending the functional possibilities and increasing the convenience in use. |
