The invention relates to a land based transportable earth boring system adaptable for transportation between different drilling pads, the system comprising at least a first and a second relocatable and transportable drilling tower unit, each adapted for movement from one drilling location to another drilling location on said drilling pad and for transport from one drilling pad to another drilling pad. The system further comprising a transportable shared mud unit for providing the drilling tower units with drilling mud, and/or a transportable shared power unit for providing the drilling tower units with power, and/or a transportable shared control unit for controlling the drilling process performed at each tower. The invention furthermore comprises a method for drilling, in particular shale gas drilling, using a land based transportable earth boring system comprising at least a first and a second independently relocatable and transportable drilling tower unit, and: a transportable shared mud unit for providing the drilling tower units with drilling mud, and/or a transportable shared power unit for providing the drilling tower units with power, and/or a transportable shared control unit for controlling the drilling process performed at each tower. |
