Disclosed is an indication and processing method for a resource occupancy mode, which enables a UE to know a resource occupancy mode of a network side clearly so as to avoid unnecessary energy waste and interference. The method is: a base station generating corresponding resource indication information based on resource occupancy modes in conventional control resource regions and enhanced control resource regions within downlink subframes to be sent in a specified period, and sending the resource indication information to a UE through a resource indication message, and the UE determining, according to the obtained resource indication information, resource occupancy modes in a conventional control resource region and an enhanced control resource region within each downlink subframe to be sent in the specified period, and implementing corresponding resource processing modes. In this way, the UE can carry out blind detection on PDCCH common and user space or PHICH reception at accurate locations, thus avoiding unnecessary energy waste and interference caused by the blind detection or reception of the UE and effectively improving the system performance.
