The injector comprises a control piston (7), which is directly connected with a nozzle needle. The nozzle needle is arranged in a control sleeve (8) in a longitudinally movable manner and encloses a control space (6). The control space is connected with a high pressure fuel source through an inlet throttle (5) and with a low pressure space through an outlet throttle. An inlet control valve (16) and a sliding piece (17) are alternately controlled by an actuator (10) corresponding to an outlet control valve (11).
