APPARATUS FOR REMOVING PCBS INCLUDED IN INSULATING OIL AND REMOVING METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: Processing apparatus and method for polychlorinated biphenyls contained in insulating oil are provided to enable reuse of a catalyst after removing the polychlorinated biphenyls. CONSTITUTION: A processing apparatus for polychlorinated biphenyls(PCBs) contained in insulating oil includes a reaction container(10), a stirrer(20), a hydrogen gas feed unit(30), and a catalyst coated mesh net(40). The insulating oil containing the PCBs is inserted into the reaction container for the reduction of the PCBs. An impeller(23) which is rotated by being connected to a rotary shaft(22) of a motor(21) is installed on the lower side of the reaction container; and the stirrer is installed on the upper side of the reaction container. The catalyst coated mesh net is installed in between the impeller and the hydrogen gas feed unit, and is coated with a palladium-alumina catalyst.
