PURPOSE: A client authentication system using the speaker recognition method of an automatic response system and method thereof are provided to accurately authenticate clients by acquiring the voice of a client from the call of the client by registering speakers. CONSTITUTION: An authentication unit(242) authenticates a client who use a speaker recognition method. When the client is not registered, a speaker registration unit(243) registers a speaker. When the client is not authenticated, a pseudo people identifying unit(244) identifies pseudo people by comparing voice characteristics of the pseudo people registered in a speaker authentication database with the voice characteristics of the client. When the number of authentication failure times is more than the fixed number, the pseudo people identifying unit registers the client as the pseudo people.
