<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polycarbonate resin having high surface hardness, high flame retardancy and with less foreign matters. <P>SOLUTION: The polycarbonate resin has a repeating unit derived from a compound represented by formula (1), and the content of a structural unit in which an ester group bonds to the aromatic ring of the compound of formula (1) is ≥20 ppm but ≤1,000 ppm. The total content of the group 1 and 2 metals in the Long Form Periodic Table is 5.0×10<SP POS="POST">-6</SP>mol or less based on 1 mol of the repeating unit derived from the whole dihydroxy compound composing the polycarbonate resin. In the formula (1), R<SP POS="POST">1</SP>and R<SP POS="POST">2</SP>are each independently (un)substituted 1-20C alkyl or (un)substituted aryl, and X is single bond, (un)substituted alkylene, (un)substituted alkylidene, or (un)substituted sulfur or oxygen. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
