<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a practical steering system that matches conditions of a vehicle used or features of the vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: The steering system includes: an operation device 16 having a steering wheel 26 which is operated by a driver; a front-wheel steering device 18 for holding a front wheel 14F in a rotatable manner and steering the front wheel; and a transmission device 20 for achieving steering of the front wheel by the front-wheel steering device in response to an operation of the steering wheel. When an operation amount of the steering wheel from a state of vehicle traveling straight is between a first operation amount and a second operation amount being larger than the first operation amount, the transmission device does not steers the front wheel regardless of the operation of the steering wheel. The steering of the front wheel is thereby limited in the middle and the occurrence of unstable travelling state such as skid is prevented, and the front wheel can be greatly steered if needed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
