<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber that is usable for a temperature sensor system etc. in a high temperature environment and excellent in heat resistance, and a manufacturing method for the same. <P>SOLUTION: An optical fiber includes, on an outer periphery of a glass fiber made up of a core part and a cladding part, a heat-resistant coating layer made of by crosslinking an energy curable resin composition including a silicon compound.
