The arrangement has radiation source (2) for emitting electromagnetic radiation (3p,3r). The electromagnetic radiation (3p) of radiation source is varied by reflection and/or by transmission through sample (1) in its spectral composition. The electromagnetic radiation (3r) of radiation source is varied by reflection and/or by transmission through reference elements (4a-4d) in its spectral composition. The intensity of change in spectral composition in electromagnetic radiation can be detected by detector (5) for optical determination of sample.
