River turbine - ( Parallel placed spiral shafts ) The blades of the turbine are aligned beside eachother. The blades and arranged along a shaft. They are attached equally from the shaft centre diving the blades into two halves (leaf/leaves). When one leaf is under water the other is completely over the water. The subsequent blade is angled at a slight degree to the previous blade. The row of blades are arranged in a spiral fashion along the shaft length to complete a full circle of 360 degrees. This turbine is placed along the breath of the river. Many shafts can be places parallel to eachother. All the shafts are connected to one common shaft on the ends of each shaft to add a cumulative effect on one side shaft. |
