VIBRATION DAMPING APPARATUS, AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibration damping apparatus that suppresses resonance phenomenon to set amplitude by vibration of auxiliary mass within an appropriate range, thereby achieving ideal vibration suppression.

SOLUTION: The vibration damping apparatus includes an actuator for driving the auxiliary mass held by a spring element with respect to a vibration-damping target device, and suppresses vibration of the vibration-damping target device by use of reaction force when driving the auxiliary mass. The apparatus further includes a resonance suppression unit of the actuator based on ideal actuator inverse properties using a transfer function of a relative vibration velocity to exciting force of a vibration system of the actuator.
