<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably and accurately keep control of valve opening of a stepping motor driven type control valve. <P>SOLUTION: A control valve 1 includes a valve operating member 136 which drives a valve element in a direction of opening/closing a valve portion by converting rotating motion around an axis of a stepping motor into translational motion in an axial direction. The stepping motor includes: a rotor 172 having a magnet 176 mounted on its rotation shaft 174 and magnetized in a circumferential direction; and a stator 173 having multiple phases of yokes 175 arranged side by side in the axial direction to surround the rotor 172 and coils 171 wound around the yokes 175. The yokes 175 are provided in pairs each including two phases. On the two-phase yokes 175, coils 171 are wound in opposite phases.
