This information processing device makes it possible to perform prescribed content use control processing without depending on the framework of the reproduction program (application) reproducing the content. A flag is recorded in a content file containing encrypted content stored in a recording medium, and in said flag is set information for determining whether or not management information files, such as a token corresponding to the content and a use control information file, must be referred to at content reproduction processing. At content reproduction processing, the reproduction device acquires the content file containing the encrypted content stored in the recording media, and refers to the flag recorded in said content file to determine whether or not, on the basis of the flag setting, the management information files must be referred to. If the flag setting indicates that the management information file must be referred to, it becomes possible to select the correct management information file with a content file identifier as the search key.
