<p>The problem addressed by the present invention is to improve whole-system reliability while using a communication medium having low reliability. A communication system is configured from a power line carrier communication network and a wireless communication network. Communication devices (11, 12, 13) are connected to a power line (2). The communication devices are provided with an interface for power line communication and for wireless communication. Communication device (11) transmits a communication packet, to which the same sequence number has been granted, both in a wired and a wireless manner. When a communication packet has been received in a wired manner, communication device (12) validates the communication packet using a checksum, and when the communication packet is found to be valid, relays and transmits the communication packet both in a wired and a wireless manner. In such a manner, by fusing wireless communication and wired communication such as power line carrier communication, it is possible to improve reliability of communication without using a dedicated line such as Ethernet (registered trademark).</p> |
