<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polycarbonate resin having high surface hardness, high flame retardancy and with less foreign matters. <P>SOLUTION: The polycarbonate resin has a repeating unit of formula (1), and the content of a structural unit derived from a compound represented by formula (2) is ≥20 ppm but ≤1,000 ppm. In the formula (1), R<SP POS="POST">1</SP>and R<SP POS="POST">2</SP>are each independently (un)substituted 1-20C alkyl or (un)substituted aryl; and X is single bond, (un)substituted alkylene, (un)substituted alkylidene, or (un)substituted sulfur or oxygen.
