摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable power optical system which suppresses variation of aberrations, reduce ghost and flare and has high optical performance, an optical device including the variable power optical system, and a method for manufacturing the variable power optical system. <P>SOLUTION: The variable power optical system includes, in order from the object side along an optical axis, a first lens group G1 having a positive refractive power, a second lens group G2 having a negative refractive power, and a third lens group G3 having a positive refractive power. During zooming from a wide-angle end state W to a telephoto end state T, an interval between the first lens group G1 and the second lens group G2 is increased, and an interval between the second lens group G2 and the third lens group G3 is reduced. The first lens group G1 includes a plurality of positive lenses L12 and L13 satisfying a prescribed conditional formula. The variable power optical system satisfies a prescribed conditional formula.
