<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a particulate filter failure detection device for a work machine capable of performing verification, with a simple configuration and easily, of presence of a melting part of a particulate filter. <P>SOLUTION: The particulate filter failure detection device is provided in a hydraulic shovel having a rotating body 2, a work device 3 attached to the rotating body 2, an engine 10 mounted on the rotating body 2, and an exhaust emission control device 15 for purifying exhaust gas of the engine 10, and includes a detection jig 24 for detecting whether a melting part 30 is produced in the particulate filter 16. The detection jig 24 is configured to include a plurality of rod-like members 24a capable of being inserted respectively into a plurality of holes 16a, 16b formed in the particulate filter 16, and a holding body 24b formed with a plurality of through holes 24b2 into which the rod-like members 24a can be respectively inserted, and movably holding each of the rod-like members 24a. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
