<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope capable of displaying a scale for determination of the size of a target. <P>SOLUTION: An endoscope 10 includes an endoscope body 11, a display control circuit, a tube body 31, an image pickup module 41, and a probe 51. The endoscope body 11 has a display 12 and a plurality of push buttons 14. The display control circuit is connected to the display 12 and push buttons 14 and receives an image signal and display it on the display 12. The tube body 31 is connected with the endoscope body 11 at one end. The image pickup module 41 is connected to the display control circuit, obtains the image of an image target, and transfers the image signal to the display control circuit. The probe 51 is connected to the composite of the tube body 31 and the image pickup module 41 and a distal end of the image pickup module 41 extending out of the composite to a predetermined length.
