Provided is an illumination device used in a showcase provided with a shelf board, and having the functionality of being waterproof and dustproof and light distribution characteristics that can efficiently illuminate products displayed on the shelf board; a shelf board unit that is provided with the illumination device, can illuminate stably without taking in water or dust, and can highly efficiently illuminate products; and a showcase. The illumination device (1) (1A-1D) has a configuration such that light from a light source (2) is guided to an exit section while being reflected and is exited towards a predetermined direction from the exit section, the exit section is covered by a waterproof cover (7), an exhaust water path (17A-17E) is provided in the light guide pathway between a substrate (21) and the exit section.
