Method for controlling a print run in a rotary printing press

The method involves inspecting a printed sheet (10) continuously with a camera system. The errors are automatically detected in the print image by electronic evaluation of the image data supplied from the camera system. The detected errors are evaluated during the print run as tolerable or as waste. The total length of the sheet that is printed in the print run up to the fulfilling of the print job increases at the sheet length evaluated as waste.
