Transgenic Caenorhabditis elegans and screening method for sugar metabolism regulator using the same

摘要

PURPOSE: A method for searching for a candidate which regulates sugar metabolism and metabolic diseases using transgenic C. elegans are provided to easily observe the change of sugar and to quickly and accurately detect a sugar metabolism regulator. CONSTITUTION: A method for preparing transgenic C.elegans comprises a step of fusing far-3::GFP DNA in a chromosome by irradiating with UV rays. A candidate sugar metabolism regulatory gene and a candidate drug are screened using the transgenic C. elegans. The screening method comprises a step of reducing the expression of the sugar metabolism regulatory gene using RNAi while feeding the transgenic C. elegans with sugar.
